THE JOURNEY INWARD

Transformation, most thinkers agree, begins with restlessness. If this restlessness converts into a quest, it can lead to a revelation-that split-second parting of the mind's veil that flashes a vision of the sought-after goal. Transformation is the slow, steady infusion of that vision into reality. It means moving from seeing anew to being anew.The tools of transformation are awareness and acceptance. We can only change what we are aware of, and we can only change when we accept it. Once acceptance is won, awareness can effect a change, in much the same way as the sun dissolves the morning mist. As we move beyond the conditioning that determined our thoughts, words and actions, we become increasingly aware of being whole and perfect. Freed of the need for fronts, we become who we are.In time, fear dissolves, helped by our growing sense of self, and above all, by an increasing trust in the universe. Freedom from conditioning frees us to see life as it is. As we take responsibility for our actions and spin away from the orbit of others' control, we taste the freedom of being our own master. Simultaneously, this generates respect for the freedom of others, which we now see as a fundamental right.As we learn to leave behind selfish concerns, we begin to focus on the larger world. A sure sign that our growth is maturing is an ability to transcend dichotomies; we become childlike and mature, playful and serious, loving and detached, flexible and firm.We are now well into the transformation process. Expect change to speed up, bringing us to the domain of surrender.Here, we let go of all personal concerns. Trusting and loving life and the universe completely, we allow life to live us, rather than the reverse. Having penetrated the layers of our own identity, we merge into the Universe. This is samadhi, the region of Sat, Chit, Ananda—existence, consciousness, bliss—attributes of the Creator. But even this is not the end. That occurs when, letting go of even the Creator's identity, we plumb the void of consciousness. The journey is done. We are home

MEDITATION: THE NEW MANTRA

Meditation is finally coming home after spreading its message all over the world. Today, tens of techniques are available off-the-shelf. "Interest in meditation has picked up in the past three to four years," agrees Swami Chaitanya Keerti, former editor of Osho Times, published by the Osho commune, Pune.What is also new is that the latest converts are the urban educated. Surprisingly too, most converts to the contemplative practices of Buddhism, a melancholic religion to the nonbeliever, are the elite and the intellectual.Meditation is even studded with glamour. Shabana Azmi, Kavita Lalitaji' Chowdhry and Bishen Singh Bedi have all done the grueling 10-day vipassana meditation course. Says Bedi: "Out of the world! Absolutely fantastic!"Stress management is influencing the corporate sector's receptivity to meditation. Companies that have institutionalized meditation include the Godrej group, Lupin Laboratories, Ayodhya Paper Mills and the Nagarjuna and Alacrity groups. At Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd, Delhi, regular sessions of the Jain system of preksha dhyan are held. An in-house study revealed that 75 per cent of the practitioners reported a reduction in anxiety, improvement in relationships and enhanced enthusiasm for work and life.Meditation is also finding use as a therapeutic tool in medicine. A growing number of up market hospitals are using it as a complementary therapy. In Delhi, Dr Bimal Chhajer has started the Saaol heart program to reverse heart disease through meditation (preksha dhyan), diet and lifestyle choices.Meditation is also being used to treat behavioral and psychiatric problems. In Mumbai, Dr Rajendra Chokani, a psychiatrist at the Sunflower Nursing Home, uses vipassana for his patients and claims a success rate of 80 per cent.The wide acceptance of meditation is due to its proven benefits. Deep relaxation releases stress, unblocking energy and creativity. Longtime practitioners show increased productivity at work and score better on personality development and self-actualization scales. Did you say 'yes' to meditation? Chances are everyone around you is.

after 3.00 PM if trading level is above our closing stoploss level then carry forward the long for next day.
If during inraday, low of OR is broken down and you have closed the long for intraday, then re-examine the level after 3.00PM. If trading above our closing stoploss level then re-enter long to carry forward for next day and if trading below our closing stoploss level, then do nothing.
--------When call is 'HOLD SHORT'

Trade with trading system

Most successful traders use a mechanical trading system.
This is no coincidence.
A good mechanical trading system automates the entire process of trading.
The system provides answers for each of the decisions a trader must make while trading.
The system makes it easier for a trader to trade consistently because there are a set of rules which specifically define what should be done.
The mechanics of trading is not left up to the judgment of the trader.
If you know that your system makes money over the long run it is easier to take the signals and trade according to the system during periods of losses.
If you are relying on your own judgment during trading you may find that you are fearful just when you should be bold and courageous when you should be cautious.
If you have a mechanical trading system that works, and you follow it rigorously your trading will be consistent despite the inner emotional struggles that might come from a long series of losses, or a large profit.
The confidence, consistency, and discipline that a thoroughly tested mechanical system affords is the key to many of the most profitable traders’ success.

Recycle Bin Edits

Fooling with the recycle bin. Why not make the icon context menu act like other icon context menu's.
Add rename to the menu:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\ShellFolder]
"Attributes"=hex:50,01,00,20
Add delete to the menu:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\ShellFolder]
"Attributes"=hex:60,01,00,20
Add rename and delete to the menu:

"Attributes"=hex:70,01,00,20
Restore the recycle bin to win defaults including un-deleting the icon after deletion:
... Restore the icon.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}]
@="Recycle Bin"
... reset win defaults
. [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\ShellFolder]
"Attributes"=hex:40,01,00,20
Other edits to the recycle bin icon:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}\ShellFolder]
"Attributes"=hex:40,01,01,20 ... standard shortcut arrow
"Attributes"=hex:40,01,02,20 ... another shortcut arrow
"Attributes"=hex:40,01,04,20 ... and another shortcut arrow
"Attributes"=hex:40,01,08,20 ... make it look disabled (like it's been cut)
I added the above edits for fun. But it gets you thinking.
Note: Adding rename and delete to the context menu takes effect instantly. To restore the icon after deletion requires screen refresh (F5).
Have fun.... Tom

Normally, when you right button click on the Start button, it allows you to open your programs folder, the Explorer and run Find.
In situations where you don't want to allow users to be able to do this in order to secure your computer.
Start Regedit
Search for Desktop

Expand this section
Under Shell is Find

Stopping Unneeded Startup Services

Open Control Panel/Administrative ToolsServices or else select Start/Run, type services.msc, and click OK. Either way, you see the Services console.

Automatic Updates: This service enables Windows XP to check the Web automatically for updates. If you don't want to use
Automatic Updates, you can disable the service. You can always check for updates manually at the Windows Update Web site.

Computer Browser: If your computer is not on a network, you don't need this service. If you are on a network, leave it alone.

DHCP Client: If you are not on a network, you do not need this service. If you are on a small workgroup, you can still increase boot time by configuring manual IP addresses (which I explore later in this chapter).

DNS Client: If you are not on a network, you do not need this service. If you are, leave it alone.

Error Reporting and Event Log: You don't have to use these services but they can be very helpful, so I would leave them configured as automatic.

Fax: If you don't use your computer for fax services, you can disable this one. Help and Support: If you never use the Windows XP

Help and Support Center (found on the Start menu), you can disable this service.

IMAPI CD-Burning COM: This service enables you to burn CDs on your computer. If you never burn CDs, you can disable the service.

Indexing Service: Your computer keeps an index of files but if you rarely search for files, the service is just a resource hog. You can stop it and turn the service to manual.

Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing: If you do not use these features, you can disable them.

Infrared Monitor: If you do not use infrared devices, you can disable this service.

Messenger: This service sends alert messages on a local area network (it is not the same as Windows Messenger). If you are not on a network, you can disable this service.

Print Spooler: If you do not do any printing from the computer, you can disable this service. If you print, make sure you leave it as automatic.

Remote Registry: This service allows remote users to modify the Registry on your computer. If you are not on a network, you can disable this service.

System Restore Service: This service allows you to use System Restore. If you have turned off System Restore anyway, you do not need to turn off the service. If you do, you turn off System Restore.

Themes: If you do not use themes, you can disable this service.

Windows Image Acquisition: If you do not use scanners or digital cameras, you can disable this service.

Wireless Zero Configuration: If do not use wireless networking devices, you can disable this service.

You may have a number of other automatic services, depending on software and other configurations on your computer. So it's a good idea to look through the services and learn more about them. If you double-click a service, a Properties dialog box appears

Notice that on the General tab, you see a Startup Type drop-down menu. If you want to change an automatic service to manual, select Manual here and click OK. As a general rule, don't disable a service unless you are sure you will never use it.

However, manual configuration allows the service to be started when you find it necessary, thus speeding up your boot time. However, before you change a service to manual, look at the Dependencies tab (see Figure 4-4). This tab shows you which other services depend upon the service you are considering changing.

Keep in mind that services are necessary for the vast functionality you get with Windows XP. Change only those services that you understand and do not use. How you use your Windows XP computer should be the best guide in terms of optional startup service.

CAUTION: DON’T STOP THE NECESSARY SERVICES OTHERWISE YOUR MANY APPLICATION GET STOP WORKING

INCREASE UR BROWSING SPEED WITH MOZILA

Speed up your firefox browser and load pages about 20% faster than previous.

1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipeliningnetwork.http.proxy.pipeliningnetwork.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows:

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once.

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

If you're using a broadband connection you'll load pages 2-3 times faster now.

4] Under "127.0.0.1 localhost" Add 127.0.0.2 www.orkut.com , and that site will no longer be accessable.
5] Done!

example :

127.0.0.1 localhost
127.0.0.2 www.orkut.com

- www.orkut.com is now unaccessable

For every site after that you want to add, just add "1" to the last number in the internal ip (127.0.0.2) and then the addy like before.

IE:
127.0.0.3 www.yahoo.com
127.0.0.4 www.msn.com
127.0.0.5 www.google.com

This also works with banner sites, just find the host name of the server with the banners and do the same thing with that addy.

Hoep this small tutorial could keep you going in simple way of blocking websites

Windows - Startup & Shutdown

DIFFERENT WAYS TO SHUTDOWN
1. The standard approach - click the Start Button with your mouse, then select the Turn Off menu and finally click the Turn Off icon on the Turn Off computer dialog. blink.gif

2. Press Ctrl+Esc key or the Win key and press u two times - the fastest approach.

3. Get the Shutdown utility from Download.com - it add the shut down shortcuts for you. Else create them yourself using approach.

4. Create a shutdown shortcut on your desktop. Right click on the desktop, choose New Shortcut and type shutdown -s -t 00 in the area where you are asked to specify the location of the program file. Now you can just double click this icon to turn off the computer. The best location would be your quick launch bar.

5. Press the Win key + R key to open the run window. Type shutdown -s -t 00. [s means shutdown while t means the duration after which you want to initiate the shutdown process].
If some open processes or application won't let you turn off, append a -f switch to force a shut down by closing all active processes.

6. Win+M to minimize all windows and then Alt+F4 to bring the Turn Off computer dialog.

7. Open Windows Task manager (by right clicking the Windows Task bar or Alt+Ctrl+Del) and choose Shut down from the menu. Useful when the Windows are not responding.

8. open task manager--->click on shutdown--->hold the ctrl key and click on Turn off::::::: pc will be turned off in 3 secs.. fastest method other than hard shutdown

RESTART WINDOWS WITHOUT RESTARTING UR PC

When you click on the SHUTDOWN button,make sure to simultaneous press SHIFT Button. If you hold the Shift key down while clicking on SHUTDOWN button, you computer would restart without restarting the Computer. This is equivalent to term "HOT REBOOT".

RESTRICT PC SHUTDOWN

Both Vista and Windows XP let you take control of preventing a user not to shutdown the machine by editing the group policy. For example if your friend is using your computer and you went somewhere ( and you have still some unsaved document left) and he shutdowns the pc without saving them…you loose a good amount of data. ( Trust me I have lost one whole blog post and project code at same time ). This is what you can do

Restrict PC Shutdown

* Type gpedit.msc in run dialog box [ WIN KEY + R ]
* This will open Group Policy Editor. Now there are two things in it, Computer Configuration and User Configuration
* Click on User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Task Bar
* Now look for “remove and prevent access to shutdown command”
* Double Click and Enable it.
* Exit the group policy editor.

This setting removes the Shut Down option from the Start menu and disables the Shut Down button on the Windows Security dialog box, which appears when you press CTRL+ALT+DEL. This setting prevents users from using the Windows user interface to shut down the system.

Now if you try to shutdown by clicking on start , the shutdown button must have disappeared. Moreover check the task manager and you will find all shutdown,restart and others disabled except switch user.

CHANGE STARTUP & SHUTDOWN SOUNDS IN XP

Have you ever felt bugged-up with the Start-up and Shutdown jingle of your Windows XP or Vista ? If yes, here is the solution, now you use any of your favorite voice or music or dialogue as your PC’s shutdown and start up.

It’s a simple 4 step process.

Step 1.

Choose the track which you want to play at start-up and shutdown jingles,
Limitations are
* It should be in .WAV format.
* The size of file should not be large, prefer keeping them within in 1 Mb, otherwise your startup will take a bit longer.
If the file you want to make your start-up or shutdown is not in .WAV format, you can easily convert them using Jet Audio 7, or any other converter.

Step 2.

Now rename these files as “Windows XP Startup.WAV” and “Windows XP Shutdown.WAV” respectively.

Step 3.

Now Go to “C:\WINDOWS\MEDIA”, here you will find files “Windows XP Startup.WAV” and “Windows XP Shutdown.WAV”, move them to some other locations, this step is required for, in case you need to revert back these sounds, else you can ignore this step.

Step 4.

Now the files you have chosen and renamed, just copy-paste or cut paste them in “C:\WINDOWS\MEDIA”, here you go, now you can enjoy the new Start-up and shutdown.
